Professional Experience:
 
Rod’s first career was as a Systems Analyst.  He later earned his Juris Doctorate and began his legal career as a Special Master of Computer Forensics for District Court in Minnesota.  Rod returned home to San Diego in 2001 and continued his legal career representing injured workers.  Changing sides, Rod first joined the Firm in 2003.   After branching out and opening a general practice law firm, he rejoined Heggeness, Sweet, Simington & Patrico in August 2009.  Rod maintains a teaching position in the Masters Program at Coleman College, where he holds courses in Human Resource Management and Cyber Law.

Rod truly enjoys complex workers' compensation issues.  He often develops new arguments on behalf of clients resulting in substantial savings in claims costs.

Rod likes to spend his free time cooking, gardening and watching sports.
