Prior Work Experience:

 

In 1974, working as a claims examiner for State Compensation Insurance Fund, Pete decided to pursue a career in law.  He studied at Southwestern University School of Law while working full time as a legal assistant for two applicant firms.  During the last two years of law school, he was a hearing representative for Kemper Insurance in Los Angeles, assuming legal responsibility for a variety of cases including specific injuries, toxic cumulative trauma claims arising out of chemical exposures and orthopedic and stress claims.  Pete worked for three different defense firms and an applicant’s firm before opening and operating his own defense practice in Fullerton, California for twelve years, and then joining Heggeness, Sweet, and Simington & Patrico.

 

Personal:

 

Since 1970 Pete has been married to Doris and they have three grown sons.  They enjoy the company of their children, family, friends and travel. Pete continues to be convinced that if he had more time to golf, he could be as good as Tiger Woods, but his 30 handicap would seem to indicate that he may be delusional.
